From her earliest memories tea has played a part in her family life. This was especially true when visiting Nana Leawood, her grandmother, at her home in Britannia, Random Island, where tea was a five-times-a-day experience. While Kelly still drinks several cups of tea a day, the kinds of teas have changed. She has developed a taste for different teas over the years and is constantly on the lookout for new and interesting types of tea.
In her own travels to Singapore and Scotland, and crossing Canada by train and air, Kelly has sought out and visited local tea shops and purchased teas to take home to brew for herself and her friends. While in Singapore, Kelly participated in a tea appreciation course offered by Vincent Low of the Yixing Xuan Teahouse. Kelly loves passing on what she has learned to other people; she enjoys letting people know the proper way to brew different teas, discussing health benefits and talking about her current favourite tea.
